Mason Winfield
Mason Winfield is a leading paranormalist in Western New York and the founder of Haunted History Ghost Walks, with tours in Buffalo, East Aurora, Orchard Park—and coming soon to Lancaster, NY.
An author, researcher, and performer, Mason has written or edited over 20 books, including Shadows of the Western Door and Iroquois Supernatural (with Seneca Nation’s Michael Bastine). Mason studied English and Classics at Denison University, earned a master’s in British Literature from Boston College, and studied writing at SUNY Buffalo with MacArthur Fellow Irving Feldman. He taught English for thirteen years at The Gow School, where he chaired the department.
A former top-ranked Buffalo-area tennis player and current cross-country skier, Mason lives in East Aurora with his two cats. He’s known for his love of dark green salads—and making a mean veggie stir fry. Many nights, you can also find him writing at the historic Roycroft Campus.
